While many are still talking about the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, OPPO has just caught the world’s attention again by launching its latest foldable device, the Find N2 Flip, on the international market.
There are already some rumors about one of the Korean tech giant’s foldable flagships in 2023 – the Galaxy Z Flip 5. According to a tweet from tech leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have a larger cover display than the Oppo Find N2 Flip. The larger external screen allows users to operate and interact with the phone when it is folded. This kind of design has not only received a lot of praise and appreciation in tech circles but also from customers, judging by the sales figures in China.
Another criticism of vertically foldable phones is their limited battery capacity. However, thanks to the energy efficiency of the latest 8Gen2 chip, we can hope that the upcoming Z series will offer much longer battery life and optimal temperature control.
I do not think foldable devices are for everyone at the moment, given their high prices and repair costs. However, it’s nice to see that some big companies are making an effort and trying to perfect these devices, especially in terms of usability, software, and app customization.
