With April Fools’ Day almost here, tech companies and brands are trying their best to catch up the internet audience. From smart sneakerphones to beer that will teach you a foreign language, 2018 is proving to be just as hysterical. 2. OnePlus Cryptocurrency

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus announced that they will soon come with their own cryptocurrency. The company has tweeted a video from its official handle with a caption “It’s not a coin toss. It’s a better way.” However, there is a chance that the teaser could also be an early April Fool’s prank by the company.

In a 26-second video titled “Change is coming,” company’s co-founder Carl Pei claimed that the company is now setting out to “reimagine one of the most fundamental elements of our everyday lives – currency.”  The video text also mentions, “Blockchain Meets Never Settle.”

3. T-Mobile Sidekicks

T-Mobile got its April Fools’ inspiration from the iconic T-Mobile Sidekick smartphone, while it is a real product. Dubbed the world’s first Smartshoephone, it features a flip-out screen like the Sidekick, only it pops out of the side of the sole. T-Mobile says that the Sidekicks are “fully tricked out for speed on the fastest LTE network ever and optimized for unlimited data with T-Mobile ONE.” Pricing for the T-Mobile Sidekicks is set at $65, and you can pre-order a pair of your own right now. They’ll just be normal sneakers, don’t think serious!

4. Honor Toilet Insurance<o:p></o:p>

Honor, an online-first smartphone brand has announced a first-of-its kind smartphone toilet insurance plan to safeguard phones from damage caused by accidental drops into the toilet. The plan is available free of charge for all Honor 7X and Honor View 10 smartphones purchased between April 1 and May 31, and will be covered through the end of 2018. However, the company shared any further information for Smartphone Toilet Insurance, such as how much the plan will cost if you purchase one of the devices outside of the above timeframe, or if it will be available for other Honor and Huawei devices. 5. Duolingo Introduces Craft Beers

Language learning app Duolingo, have brewed up something special for April Fool’s as they are coming up with its own range of craft beers, dubbed Brewolingo. “True fluency comes from a mix of consistent studying, cultural immersion, and getting tipsy,” Duolingo co-founder Luis von Ahn said. The joke has been played on actual research which states alcohol consumption can improve foreign language skills. <o:p></o:p>Duolingo isn’t actually setting up a brewery, but it has a Buy Now button.
